Shipping & Delivery Policy

Last updated: March 2026

1. Our Service

McGrocer is a cross-border commerce platform that enables customers worldwide to purchase everyday consumer products available from UK retailers. Customers can shop from multiple retailers in a single basket, and McGrocer handles the sourcing, consolidation, and international delivery of those items. Products are purchased from established UK retail stores and authorised distributors after an order is placed, then prepared for export and dispatched through our international courier network.

2. International Shipping

McGrocer currently ships to 150+ countries worldwide. Shipping availability may vary depending on UK export regulations, courier service coverage, destination country restrictions, and international sanctions or trade controls. Some destinations may experience customs inspections or regulatory delays.

3. Importer of Record

For international shipments, the customer acts as the Importer of Record. This means you are responsible for ensuring that the products ordered comply with the import laws of your country, and for confirming that items ordered are permitted for import into your destination country before placing an order.

4. Duties, Taxes & Import Charges

International shipments are typically sent Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU). Customers may be required to pay import duties, local VAT/GST, customs clearance fees, and government inspection charges. These charges are determined by local authorities and are not controlled by McGrocer.

5. Customs Clearance

Customs authorities may inspect shipments entering a country. Customs clearance procedures and regulatory decisions are outside McGrocer's control, and customers acknowledge that international shipments may experience delays or additional documentation requests during customs processing.

6. Customs Refusal & Returned Shipments

If a shipment is refused entry by customs authorities, returned due to import restrictions, or abandoned by the recipient, customers remain responsible for all shipping costs, customs charges, and return courier fees incurred. Any refund on a returned shipment may be issued after deduction of all shipping, return handling, and related charges. If goods are confiscated, destroyed, or abandoned by authorities, the order will not be eligible for refund or replacement.

7. Product Categories

Certain product categories may be subject to additional requirements depending on the destination country. Alcohol may require age verification, and some destinations require import permits. Electrical products are supplied in UK specification (220–240V) with UK plugs. Dangerous goods require specialised courier documentation and packaging, and a £87 courier handling fee may apply where required.

8. Product Types Shipped

McGrocer ships ambient (shelf-stable) goods only. We currently do not ship frozen foods, refrigerated items, or products requiring cold-chain transport. Transit conditions may affect temperature-sensitive items.

9. Processing Times

Orders typically begin processing within 1–3 business days. Processing includes product sourcing, quality checks, order consolidation, and export packaging. Once sourcing begins, orders cannot be modified or cancelled.

10. Delivery Estimates

Estimated delivery times after dispatch: Europe 2–4 business days, North America 3–5 business days, Asia Pacific 4–7 business days, and Rest of World 4–8 business days. Delivery times may vary due to customs inspections or courier delays.

11. Product Availability

Products are sourced from UK retailers at the time of order. If an item becomes unavailable, a substitute may be offered and the customer will be contacted where possible; unavailable items will be refunded if no suitable replacement is accepted.

12. Non-Returnable Items

Due to hygiene, safety, and retailer policies, the following items cannot be returned: opened food products; baby foods and infant nutrition products; personal care or hygiene products; perishable or temperature-sensitive goods; items with short shelf life; and custom or special-order products.

13. Damaged or Missing Items

Customers must report damaged or missing items within 48 hours of delivery. Where appropriate, photographic evidence may be required, and verified claims may qualify for replacement or refund.

14. Limitation of Liability

McGrocer's liability is limited to the value of the order placed through our platform. McGrocer is not responsible for customs delays or inspections, government confiscation of goods, destination country import restrictions, or courier delays outside our control.

15. Acceptance of Shipping Policy

By completing checkout and confirming the International Shipping Information, you acknowledge that you have reviewed this Shipping Policy, accept responsibility as the Importer of Record, and understand that international shipments are subject to customs control.
